Angsana Teluk Bahang, Penang, which will be the first Angsana brand in Malaysia, is managed by the world-acclaimed Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts. The five-star vibrant resort which sits on the idyllic Teluk Bahang beach, is set to open its doors to guests in Q3 2020. 

The resort is approximately a 50-minute drive from the Penang International Airport, a 30-minute drive from George Town and a five-minute drive from Batu Ferringhi. Guests will appreciate the resort’s convenient accessibility to nearby popular tourist attractions in the Teluk Bahang vicinity, namely the Penang National Park, Entopia by Penang Butterfly Farm, Penang Tropical Spice Garden, Penang Tropical Fruit Farm, Penang Batik Factory, Penang Art & Garden and Escape Adventureplay and Waterplay Theme Parks.

The resort’s 250 contemporary rooms and suites are exquisitely designed with intimate details of peranakan-theme interior décor and colourful rugs designed by internationally acclaimed Omar Khan. Room and Suite categories include Superior Room, Deluxe Room, Premier Room, One-Bedroom Suite, One-Bedroom Deluxe Suite, Two-Bedroom Suite, Two-Bedroom Deluxe Suite with a patio garden and a mini jet tub at the entrance, Two-Bedroom Pool Suite with a plunge pool and Two-Bedroom Sky Garden Suite, a penthouse with a private sky garden and outdoor jet tub. All rooms and suites offer a panoramic view of the Andaman Sea and come equipped with a 49-inch Smart television with music and movie channels, air-conditioning, luxurious amenities, international direct dial, bathroom with rain shower and long bath, bidet, hairdryer, digital clock with USB port, electronic safe box, Wifi connectivity, coffee and tea-making facilities, amongst others.

Resort General Manager, Mr Nigel Fisher explained “the resort’s development came about with a vision of drawing inspiration from the rich Penang Peranakan Baba Nyonya heritage. Its architecture and interior design will incorporate the vibrant colours and intricate floral with geometric patterns of the Straits Eclectic Style, as well as pay tribute to Penang’s status of being a UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) world heritage destination.”

The resort has two swimming pools – an infinity pool located by the Jubilee, a unique extended deck for relaxation, which overlooks the picturesque Andaman Sea and another pool located at Kerongsang Wing with a children’s pool that comes with waterplay features.

Meetings and events can be organised at the resort with its Kebaya Ballroom located on the Ground Level of the resort, which can accommodate up to 300 guests, and three smaller meeting rooms which are suitable for private meetings and intimate events of 10 to 40 persons. There will be the functional Jubilee Pavilion by the infinity swimming pool deck area, which sets as the perfect venue for private events of 30 to 200 persons. Tailor-made proposals to meet guests’ needs and requirements can be arranged accordingly. Special Wedding banquet celebration packages are also available.

The resort’s award-winning Angsana Spa offers guests “Sanctuary of the Senses” – a place for physical, mental and spiritual renewal. The Spa located on Level 4 of the Wellness Centre, comprises of eight treatment rooms with en-suite shower facilities for added privacy (five couple and three single rooms) and a signature Rainmist Therapy Room with a steam room facility. The Spa engages non-clinical and holistic approach using Asian and Traditional healing therapies and a fusion of East and West massage techniques. Therapists are professionally trained at the Banyan Tree Spa Academy in Thailand, China and Indonesia.

Guests can select locally made handicrafts, vibrant resort apparel and signature spa amenities, and take home the Angsana experience at the Angsana Gallery, located on the resort Lobby Level.

Rangers’ Club, the resort’s kids club, is available for children aged four up to 11 years old. Kids can enjoy scheduled interactive classes, enrichment activities, cultural workshops, art and craft, and sports programmes. Babysitting services can be arranged from the kids’ club or Front Desk.

The Wellness Centre and fully equipped Fitness Center located across from the resort offers lifestyle and holistic approaches to enhance our daily wellbeing.
